Most of our team here wear glasses – and we love them. This means we understand how important it is that your spectacles should express your personality, be comfortable and give you the best vision possible. We have an amazing range of frames including high fashion brands. Our team are experienced and trained to help you select eyewear you will enjoy wearing!
Our range includes but is not limited to:
We use leading international optical lens manufacturers including Essilor/ Nikon, HOYA and Carl Zeiss Vision, with the majority of our lenses made locally in Auckland.
We are not restricted in lens laboratories and we will use other manufacturers to give you the best solution available.
New Zealand's sun and ultraviolet rays is one of the strongest in the world. Excessive UV exposure may cause lumps to develop on the whites of your eye (pingueculum/ pterygium) and other eye conditions including cataracts and age-related macula degeneration (AMD).
Sunglasses are therefore necessary in protecting your eyes and come in a variety of options.
Most don’t realise that many sunglasses can be made to incorporate your prescription into them. That way, you’re getting the necessary eye protection in all light conditions, every day and enjoy the benefits of clear vision.
Right now at Frith and Laird we have a promotion for prescription sunglasses. Purchases any clear pair of glasses and you can get a complete pair of prescription sunglasses (single vision or progressive lenses included) as your second pair from $249*

Polarised lenses reduce additional glare from reflective surfaces such as wet roads, water, snow and buildings. This makes a great option for those spending a lot of time driving or on a boat/ beach.
We use all the major contact lens manufacturers including Cooper Vision, Johnson and Johnson, Alcon Ciba Vision, Bausch and Lomb.
The optometrists at Visique Frith and Laird are also experts in fitting custom specialty contact lenses for those with keratoconus and orthokeratology (ortho-K).
A Ministry of Health contact lens subsidy is available for certain eye conditions and high prescriptions. Contact us for more information.
