Heather was born shortsighted so had a limited view of life for her first few years. Finally someone realised she needed spectacles and she discovered there was a whole new world at the end of the street. So optometry was the perfect choice of career. With new technologies and continued education there have been new challenges and the job remains as exciting as it was early on.
When not at work, Heather can be found playing her fiddle with gusto for Scottish dances, exploring the Outer Hebrides and learning Gaelic.
Specialty interests: low vision, children's vision, advanced contact lenses (including keratoconus)
Brooke and Truus are our front of house staff.
Brooke (RDONZ) began in the optical industry in 2017. She found her passion in dispensing and optics and is now a qualified dispensing optician. When not at work Brooke can be found crafting or walking her dog.

Truus has been in the optical industry for over 30 years and has been with Frith and Laird for 10 of those years. She began working at Universal Lens in Papakura and quickly found her passion lay in the optical industry. When not at work Truus can be found reading a book on the deck at her coastal home or looking after her grandchildren.
